I attended a local Chamber of Commerce luncheon today.  The keynote speaker did a talk on how to have memorable conversations. She did an exercise with the group that was quite powerful. 

She asked everyone to get up and meet six people.  We were all asked to introduce ourselves and ask a simple question, "what is good?". 

I was very impressed with the energy shift in the room after doing this exercise. Everyone really opened up and were enjoying themselves.

The presenter pointed out that too many times when we talk with people we focus on the bad things going on.  However, when were are given the opportunity to talk about the good things going on, the conversation can take a whole new form. A positive one. Ultimately, a memorable one. 

Challenge yourself today to ask others what good things are happening in their life, their work etc. Watch what happens.
