Shift Your Life Video Series - #2 - Drinking more water

March 25, 2015

Welcome to Video #2 in the Shift Your Life Video Series.

In video number #1,  I talked about movement as a way to create a shift in your life. Movement involving exercise or moving your body in some shape or form.

Today, just like in the first video we are going to have another simple and easy thing that you can do. Ultimately, it can create a shift in your life that may initially be a baby step to help you get to where you want to get to.

Today's idea is consuming more water. I know for myself when I become more aware of the amount of water I am drinking, I have lost weight, had more energy, slept better and not craved junk food or sugar as much. It is beneficial from a health perspective and at the same time my head is clearer. I am not as stressed. I am able to make more informed decisions. Drinking more water can be a simple and easy thing to become more aware of to help you bring a shift in your life towards your goals and dreams.

You can find a whole variety articles online about the benefits of drinking more water. The old thinking around drinking 8 ounces 8 times per day has changed. The Mayo Clinic in the U.S. states that men on average should consume 3 litres per day and women 2.2 litres per day.

I would encourage you to consider drinking more water and reducing caffeine and alcohol consumption. As you are doing this, you can write down anything you notice that is happening as you make this shift over time.

I would love to hear from you on how drinking more water has helped create a shift in your life.
Feel free to share your experience on my facebook page at

Life is what you make of it

November 13, 2014

I started journaling a lot when I was in University.
Here is poem I wrote back in 90's.

Life is what you make of it,
How does your life make you feel?
Own your destiny, feel it within your soul,
Its fighting inside you,
It wants to come out,
It needs to breathe,
Can you feel it yet?
Do you hear it calling your name?
Release the life within you,
Don’t fight it from happening,
To live is not to fight,
To live is to live,
To love is to love,
To be one, pure of purity,
Your destiny makes you,
It is you, it is ...

Go for the Gold!

February 9, 2014
I learned something in grade eight that I wanted to share with you.

In the first month of junior high school, a school assembly was scheduled in the gym.  When I entered the gym, I couldn’t believe how many students filled it.  It was probably ten times the number of students we would have at an assembly at my elementary school.  There so many students that the gym’s four huge bleachers were full plus about ten rows of students were sitting on the floor.  As a grade eight student, I had to...

80% of the game is between your ears

January 30, 2014

This is the story that inspired me to write my ebooks and create this website.

“80% of the game is between your ears”, is what my senior high school

basketball coach would say to us at our practices. He would say it at the

beginning of practice as he would walk around the center of the gym where the

entire team was standing in a circle, stretching.

“80% of the game is between your ears”, he would repeat out loud. The snickers

and rolling eyes from some of the players (myself included) could...

How aware are you about what you are consuming on a daily basis?

1. Food
How much sugar, fat, calories etc. are you eating each day? Are you consciously monitoring this consumption?

2. Images
What images you are bringing into your mind daily? These images could be from news websites, movies, magazines etc.
How are the images you are focusing on helping you reach your goals?

3. Sounds
What type of sounds are flowing into your ears each day? This could be from the type of music you listen to. The peop...

June 24, 2013
A recent article that I found interesting...

Change is your friend

June 24, 2013
Do you believe that change is your friend?

So many people are afraid of change.  Change is the one consistent thing in our life.

Take a look in the mirror and then take a look at pictures of you at five, ten, fifteen, twenty, and twenty-five years old. The reality is you are changing. You are always changing.

The mileage on your car changes every time you drive it.

The amount of food in your fridge changes every time you eat something from it.

If you are into sports, the players on your favorite t...
